In the collective imagination, the Romans are often remembered for their extraordinary achievements, military power and gladiator games (think about the best-known films about Rome). Since I was a child I have been fascinated by the events of this Empire, one of the largest in history and certainly the one that left the strongest imprint in humanity. As mentioned in my introduction to the blog, Roman history is one of my passions.
